Juanita Beatrice Boatwright Obituary - 2023 (2024)

My dear wife Juanita left this life to be with the Lord on August 31, 2023, after our sharing over twenty two years of love, creating many wonderful memories and changing my spiritual outlook for the better. Having first met in her Christian Bookstore in January of 2001, we soon progressed to friends, fell in love and were married in December of the same year. Of the many valuable lessons she taught me, most importantly was we serve a loving creator who has a plan for each of us and I discovered how God loves to use ordinary people to encourage others as Juanita transformed me. I’ll be forever grateful for all the love, laughter and devotion we shared. Yes, I will miss her, but I know in my heart we’ll soon meet again and until then, I’ll do my best to honor her by trying to embrace a purpose driven life and the love and sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Juanita was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Gray, brothers, James, Chris and Howard; and her sister, Deborah.

She leaves behind her husband, Gregory Boatwright; stepdaughter, Shanon Dana Dangerfield; sister, Phaydra Everette; nephews, James, Peter and Moe Gray, and Paul Moore; nieces, Brandi McLoyd and Shonta Moore; great nieces, Shanique and Shaniqua Moore, and Janelle and Janay Gray; great nephews, Paul Moore, III, Shawn and Peter Gray, Jr.; great great nephews, Johann McLoyd, Genesis Calderon, and Tre’von Moore; great great nieces, Journee Calderon and Qa’mani Johnson; and many beloved family, cousins, in laws, friends and co-workers so numerous, I hope you will please forgive me for any omissions.

Most importantly, my Juanita was a very spiritual woman who loved the Lord and made a lasting impression with so many fellow Christians but I’d like to take this opportunity to humbly thank Mrs. Michele Garrett who so often came to pray, sing and speak with my wife during her transition to be with God, and my spiritual partners, Kathy and John Koch, who helped me in ways I cannot adequately describe. They will always have my deepest gratitude. Finally, I’d like to think my wife Juanita made a lasting impression on whomever she met as I truly cannot think of anyone who knew her who did not love her. Go with God.
