Maryland Man Cries With Joy After Winning $100,000 Lottery Prize (2024)

Maryland Man Wins $100,000 in Scratch-off Game

FORESTVILLE, MD—A Forestville man, Kenneth Jones, experienced an emotional drive home as he uncovered a $100,000 prize from a 50X The Cash scratch-off ticket. Overwhelmed with joy, Jones and his friend shared tears of happiness during the ride. “We cried with joy, all right! When you see the prize, you can’t believe it,” Jones said.

Jones, a dedicated player of the 50X The Cash game, had won smaller amounts previously but this was his first major win. He purchased the winning ticket at Allview Liquors in Ellicott City. During the drive home, his friend, who was driving, watched as Jones scratched off a 10X symbol to reveal the $10,000 prize, which added up to the top prize of $100,000.

The retail nightshift manager and father of six plans to save most of his winnings, with some set aside to help friends and family. Allview Liquors, where the ticket was purchased, will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-prize winning ticket.

The 50X The Cash scratch-offs launched in January, featuring ten $100,000 top prizes, with three still up for grabs. The game also offers unclaimed prizes ranging from $50,000 to $10. It is part of the X the Cash scratch-off family and includes a second-chance promotion with drawings in June and July, offering additional prizes of $50,000 and $75,000.
