RCMP confirmed in an update Thursday evening that a 78-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman, both from Calgary, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and that their families had been notified.
The man was driving and the woman was a passenger in a westbound pickup truck that collided with an eastbound car, police said.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have contributed to the crash.
The provincial coroners office and police continue to investigate.
Rosetown is about 120 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon.
